- Why at 77+ are you involved in the Pro-Life movement?
- The answer is simple and clear. I, Sr. Annunciata belong to the Congregation of Our Lady of Charity of the Good Shepherd founded by St. Mary Euphrasia Pelletier. At our religious profession, we take the 4 vows poverty, chastity obedience and a special one –ZEAL (passion) for the salvation of persons.
- Our Mission is to be a presence of Jesus, the Good Shepherd, approaching each person as He would with compassion, gentleness, acceptance, and respect, awakening in those wounded by injustice, oppression, and alienation a deep sense of their infinite worth and dignity as persons and instilling in them a hope for the future, serving others in the context of the family and the society in which they live thus helping them to experience the liberating love of Jesus, the Good Shepherd.
- Programmes are specially directed to girls and women to help them experience a sense of belonging and to grow towards their full potential as persons.
- The words of St. Mary Euphrasia have always inspired me to greater zeal to take risks with courage.
- “O my God! What are we doing in this world, why are we here if not to contribute to the Salvation of our neigbour?” “A person is more precious than the whole world”.
- We, Good Shepherd sisters minister to a diversity of persons including.
· Youth in crisis · Single mothers in pregnancy crisis · The homeless, orphans and destitutes · Migrant / Child Labourers · Women and children who are victims of trafficking · Families in need of counseling · Those in prison and under-trials · Recipients of parish outreach beneficiaries in social, medical and educational field. |
- Our Contemplative Sisters of the Good Shepherd are our prayer warriors who support the ministries of the Apostolic Sisters through their life of intense prayer.
- My vocation to join the Sisters of the Good Shepherd has enriched me in the field of reaching out and touching persons in all walks of life. As long as the Lord wants, I will continue to spread the message of RFLI. For me as a Sister of Good Shepherd, the pro-life work is our ministry.
